About ME

My name is Lauren Miles, I am the founder of Modern by Miles, and we are located in Alabama. My husband, Mim, and I have two children - Margo (4) and Mac. (2).  After retiring from coaching swimming, most recently at Auburn University, we worked towards planning and designing our own home build.  I documented every step on social media, and found my next greatest passion. Mim purchased the LLC as my 40th birthday gift, and less than a year later I was helping multiple clients plan and design their own dream homes!  I have always loved studying floor plans and exterior elevations. My grandfather, father, and sister have each built homes at some point in their lives. I grew fond of the process during our build, and have worked hard to create my own processes and services to help others also building. All facets of my services - planning, designing, supporting, and furnishing - are provided to decrease stress and improve function in all spaces.
